About
Welcome! Cancer Athletics is a New York City based non-profit organization promoting athleticism for cancer patients and survivors. From yoga to endurance events including walking, swimming, weight training, spin classes, aerobics, tennis and hula hooping to name a few, Cancer Athletics participants thrive in a team based professionally coached environment. Coordination with patient and survivorship care teams represents an individual focused program. Services are free to patients and survivors. All levels of athleticism are accepted. The goal of Cancer Athletics is to ease suffering during and after cancer treatment through athleticism. The team approach allows patients and survivors to support one another through dramatic and growth providing circumstances.
The health and well-being of cancer patients and survivors is the focus.
Members have competed in athletic events including marathons, 1/2 marathons, triathlons, 5k's, etc.
Cancer Athletics intends to grow the team to provide health in treatment and survivors. Members are teammates and spokespersons. Let our stories inspire you to make activity part of your healing process. Member survivors have worked with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, American Cancer Society, Team-In-Training, The Lance Armstrong Foundation, Stupid Cancer aka I'm Too Young For This Foundation, Voices of Survivors, Planet Cancer, 5k Run For Rose, Weekend of Hope, et. al..
